# 51 - Oak Island Lighthouse - SOLD

8" x 10" Oil on gessobord panel

I saved Oak Island Lighthouse last in this series thinking it might be a little boring - I was wrong!  This one turned out to be my favorite.  I used the palette knife once again, listened to the sounds of the ocean as I painted (thanks to the computer audio and the internet.  : )  The lighthouse was built back in 1958, It stands 148 feet tall.  At one time when all four lights were in commission it was the brightest light in the western hemisphere, now however it uses only one of the four lights.
