# 189 - Red Tulips

Day 3 of 30

8" x 10" - Oil on panel

Today I am submitting this painting of red tulips on Leslie Saeta's 30 paintings in 30 days challenge.  I bought these at the grocery store the same day I bought the daffodils.  It is amazing how fast they open up.  I had to paint them quick.  I think this painting could still use a little work.  The glass pitcher needs some corrections and I think the background could use some color adjustments.  For now I will call it done.

Wonderful painting. I like the translucency of the pitcher and the rich colors of the flowers. Katrina

The red really pops against the neutral background, beautiful! I missed the landscape on the bottom, its hard to believe you got it off the computer. It feels very natural!

Done or not it is already very beautiful, really love the bold red of the tulips, and the transparence of the vase is very well done.

Wonderful painting, Debi! Though you aren't satisfied with it, I think that it came out great. Wonderful job capturing the reflection of light on the glass vase. It adds to the roundness of the vase and it gives it form. And that red really does pop out from all of those neutral tones. I think it's a successful piece.
