# 194 - Tropical Palms

8" x 8" Oil on Panel

Day 8 of 30

A palette knife painting inspired from a few photos of Jamaica.  The recent blast of icy frigid air has me thinking of somewhere warm and tropical.

I love the green against the light blues, it just feels airy and peaceful. Beautifully done Debi!

Cool Palette knife painting: I would have never guessed: The paint is so smooth, I thought originally that it had been done with a brush. Wow! Nice work!

Thank you Celia, Jane and Sam, I appreciate your comments! This morning before going to work I have and hour mapped out and hopefully I can post two paintings for the challenge. Sam you are right about this painting I started out using brushes only, I added the palette knife over the brush strokes. When a painting doesn't quite work for me, sometimes the loose strokes of a knife can make a bit of a difference.
