# 220 - Yellow Roses

20" x 16" on stretched canvas

I set up this still life scene in my studio last night and finished the painting tonight.  the roses are hanging in there looking pretty fresh so I think I may try another painting with a different vase and set up.  I think roses can be very challenging and yellow roses are tricky in getting the lights abd shadows right.

Thank you for stopping by and having a look!

Your roses are just beautiful Debi! The yellow and green making for a calm color palette. I agree about yellow roses, they don't have a wide value range so it's hard to get the shadows but you did a wonderful job. Great glass work too! Have a great weekend!

I love yellow roses and often start a painting wanting to make them yellow , but they often end up being pink or white instead as yellow roses are very hard to paint indeed ! This is a gorgeous set up Debi and the roses are perfect !
