Oil painting, 8" x 6" on gesso board panel
This morning I visited the "The Daily Paintworks" Website as I often do and decided to paint this weeks challenge painting. I liked the photo Carol Marine posted as an example so painted that one. I have been struggling in a few areas lately and feel like loose paintings with good values are an area I would like to concentrate more. I have collected a few good instructional videos and books lately, and realize I should spend more time doing the exercises and practice values and compositions.
I ordered Carol Marines new book on Amazon, I am so looking forward to getting it.

I love this old barn and the colors you used . Lovely bright sky too, suggesting a beautiful day .
I love your interpretation, you have beautiful colors in the shadows and great brush work! I look at the challenge every week myself with the hope of participating, this is a nice one! I am hearing great things about her book.
